Food security from your garden
Farming a cow in your back garden is neither feasible nor advisable. However farming insects on a small scale, is a good way to achieve protein self sufficiency. You can grow many kilos of mealworms in a limited space, so you can ensure food security for your family. You can feed insects a diet made of food surplus and agri-food waste, making them the sustainable protein of choice you can grow yourself. When booking one of our edible insect workshops, we will deliver a presentation on entomophagy, where will have the opportunity to learn interesting facts about edible insects and their life-cycle. You may even decide to have a go and experiment with producing your own proteins !
