Edible crickets
Our edible insects are rigorously farmed in Europe and the UK by selected farmers and are mostly packaged in fully biodegradable or recyclable pouches. We think that, buying products farmed locally by reputable suppliers, helps supporting both the community and small businesses like ours. Buying locally also means that the food has a shorter distance to travel, hence reducing carbon emission.

Edible Crickets – how to eat
Dried edible crickets are quickly gaining popularity as a sustainable, protein-rich snack — and for good reason. These tiny powerhouses are not only packed with essential nutrients like protein, iron, and B12, but they also boast a pleasantly nutty, slightly earthy flavor that complements both savory and sweet dishes.
Here are some creative and tasty ways to enjoy them:
🥣 Boost Breakfast Bowls
Sprinkle dried crickets over cereals, oatmeal, or porridge alongside nuts and seeds for a crunchy, protein-packed start to your day. Their nutty flavor blends seamlessly with sweet or savory toppings
🍲 Top off soups
Sprinkle crickets over hearty soups, stews, or ramen just before serving. They add a crunchy texture and a nutty finish, turning a simple bowl into a protein-rich, gourmet experience.
🥜 Snack straight from the bag
Crickets make a satisfying, crunchy snack on their own — just sprinkle some salt on them (better if pulverised) and pop a few in your mouth and enjoy their toasted, nutty flavor. Think of them as nature’s version of trail mix (minus the sugar crash).
🥗 Top off your favorite dishes
Sprinkle whole crickets over salads, tacos, guacamole, fajitas, or grain bowls for an unexpected crunch and a boost of protein. They add a delightful texture and a subtle depth of flavor that pairs beautifully with fresh veggies and bold seasonings.
🥦 Toss into Stir-Fries
Add whole crickets to your favorite stir-fry for a protein boost and satisfying crunch. You can also marinade them beforehand in soy or teriyaki sauce with some added garlic, or ginger.
🍞 Grind into cricket powder
For a more discreet and versatile option, grind dried crickets into a fine powder. Use it to fortify baked goods like muffins or protein bars, stir it into smoothies, or mix it into sauces and soups for an invisible nutrition upgrade.
🍳 Cook them your way
Try roasting, pan-frying, or stir-frying crickets to enhance their flavor and add a crispy texture. Toss them into a skillet with a bit of oil, garlic, and your favorite spices for a simple, savory bite.
🍫 Sweeten the Deal
Crickets aren’t just for savory dishes! Dip them in melted chocolate for a crunchy dessert, or caramelize them with a quick syrup glaze for a sweet and salty treat. Perfect for adventurous eaters with a sweet tooth.

How are the edible insects dried?
The processing method is microwave drying. This process removes most of the moisture (only <5% left) leaving the crickets crunchy and tasty. Furthermore, the product contains no added preservatives or flavouring.
What type of crickets are edible?
There are no reports of poisonous crickets in nature. Most species are edible, however the U.K. currently restricts the sale to Acheta Domesticus (common house cricket) and Banded Crickets. We do not recommend harvesting crickets from the wild, as they will have to go a very strict microbiological assessment to make sure they are safe. Also it is important that you consume those which have been fed a diet of approved feed (for example, the feed cannot include animal protein).
